Clara Bow Project Audition Notice

LiveArtDC is seeking 2 male actors to join The Clara Bow Project.

This is a project designed to tell the story of the rise and fall of the ‘It Girl’ while examining the role of a dramaturg in the writing process. We work in a collaborative group setting, devising the script as a collective and already have an all-star group, including myself, Alia Faith Williams, Seth Alcorn, Rebecca Ellis and Julie Roundtree. Please visit our website to learn more about the project.

We are looking for two actors to play the following:
Clara’s Young Men: Rex Bell (husband), Gary Cooper, Artie Jacobson, Gilbert Roland (and others)
Clara’s Older Men: Robert Box (father), BP Shulberg, Victor Flemming (and others)

This is a long term project. Our last show, I Hummels, took roughly 3 1/2 years to create, but was wildly successful and well reviewed at the Capital Fringe Festival, was invited to be the entertainment for the National Hummels Association Convention and will have a brief remount in August.

We meet once a month, based upon actor availability. We put the show up when it’s ready, and not a minute before. I think you’d get a kick out of what we do. This isn’t meant to be the only project you have; in fact, for most LiveArtDC members, this is a project they take on in addition to “regular” stage and film work.

We are holding auditions on Wednesday, September 18th from 7-11. Please email hwhitpan@LiveArtDC with your headshot and resume and indicate your time preferences. Sides will be sent in advance of the audition.

Cheers!
